Pubblicato il 24 April 2021

Claudio Allocchio, GARR Senior Technical Officer, received the e-Culture Award, in recognition for collaborative and co-creative work on advanced networks in the cultural field (art, science, technology and society).

The award was presented on 23 April in Uruguay as part of the Anilla Cultural Latinoamérica-Europa.

Inserted in the "Trajectories" category, the award recognises Allocchio’s work as a pioneer and great promoter of e-Culture and witnesses the appreciation for his constant commitment in the cultural field through the creation of quality instruments, such as LoLa, which make concerts unique and shows distributed all over the world. This is an important result that enhances the ability to promote network collaboration in the artistic field through research networks.

In the "Trajectories" category, prizes were also awarded to Ann Doyle from Internet2, US, a pioneer in the creation of cultural contamination in the performing arts through the use of the web, and Juan Insua, from the CCCB (Center de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, Spain ) for the contribution to cultural innovation through the management of exhibitions, festivals and projects in a transdisciplinary key and in different platforms and formats.

The award ceremony, in which a design object was given to the winners, was also an opportunity to open the celebrations for Anilla Cultural's 10th anniversary in Uruguay, whose main objective is the promotion of multicultural and collaborative educational projects in the arts, sciences, technologies and society. The award received adds up to the Vietsch Foundation Medal of Honor, received in 2019: another important international acknowledgment for the contribution of ideas and innovations in the field of networking.
