The conference will serve as an opportunity to launch the second phase of the project connecting the GARR network with the Research Institutes affiliated with the Ministry of Health and to introduce new services tailored to the biomedical community.

The Scientific Institutes for Research, Hospitalization, and Healthcare (IRCCS) became part of the GARR community thanks to the first phase of the GARR-IRCCS project, which was completed in 2008. With the start of the second phase, the community expands, and the project is enriched with new dedicated services.

The main goal of the event is to highlight the benefits and new opportunities that a network infrastructure like the one developed in this project can offer to the Italian medical research community.
Through the presentation of outstanding case studies, the conference will explore how high-speed connectivity to the GARR network facilitates collaboration not only within the international medical research community but also across disciplines. Thanks to the GARR network, researchers from various fields can exchange vast amounts of data and access cutting-edge technologies, tackling complex challenges previously unimaginable and transforming approaches to long-standing issues.
