Federico Ruggieri becomes a member of GÉANT BoD
During the last GÉANT General Assembly, held on 23 November in Prague, attendees voted for four open GÉANT Board positions.
Among the newly appointed BoD members is GARR director Federico Ruggieri, who commented “ the international dimension is a key to GARR mission and to our everyday committment in supporting Italian researchers in their collaborations, which are becoming increasingly global. GÉANT is the cornerstone upon which we National Research and Education Networks build such support. That's the reason why I am personally committed to further improve it and bring it beyond the 2020. I believe that by appointing me the other European NRENs' representatives are recognising the job GARR has been doing so far towards this end, and offering their trust for the future".
Besides Federico Ruggieri, other three members were appointed: Paul Feldman from Jisc (United Kingdom), Raimundas Tuminauskas from Litnet (Lithuania) and Marko Bonač from Arnes (Slovenia), the latter two at their second mandate. The newly elected members of the BoD steered by Christian Grimm from DFN (Germany) will join Sabine Jaume-Rajaiona from Renater (France), Valter Nordh from Sunet (Sweden), Ivan Marić of Carnet (Croatia) and Andreas Dudler of Switch (Switzerland).
