Last 6 December, the new 100 Gbps research link between Singapore and Japan, was launched.
Co-funded by National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), Japan, and National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC) Singapore, the link interconnects the Singapore Advanced Research and Education Network (SingAREN) to Japan via Hong Kong.
It is the first 100G international research and education link in Asia and completes the Asia Pacific Ring (APR) dedicated to R&E collaborations across the Pacific between Asia and North America.
At the launch event held in Singapore, APR participants signed two MoUs in the fields of ICT and advanced R&E collaborations.
