On February 5th, the Estonian cities of Tallinn and Tartu have been connected by music for a day. Thanks to the well known LoLa system, 5 masterclasses were organised in real-time between the Tartu School of Music and the Estonian Academy of Music and Theater.
This was made possible by LoLa, a low latency, high quality audio/video transmission system developed by Conservatorio di Musica "Giuseppe Tartini" of Trieste (Italy) in collaboration with GARR. The aim of the system is to enable real-time musical performances where musicians are physically located in remote sites, connected by advanced network services, like the ones provided by the NRENs and GEANT and other International backbones.
