The new edition of the GARR - Net Makers workshop will be hosted at the National Central Library of Rome from 5th to 7th November 2024.

UPDATE: Due to scheduled works on the Rome-Milan railway line from 8th to 10th November, the workshop has been moved forward to 5th-7th November 2024, with the training day set for 4th November.

The workshop is a key event for networking experts from universities, education, and research sectors: a chance for discussion and debate on current technological topics, as well as for professional development.

This edition will cover updates on the new GARR-T network, enhanced by the European projects TeRABIT and ICSC. We will showcase new GARR services and the use of fibre infrastructure for no-data services, such as time-frequency signal transmission, sensing, and quantum communication. As always, we will focus extensively on security, particularly NIS2, as well as digital identities, cloud technology, and numerous applications and services supporting research in Italy and Europe.

On 4th November, there will be training opportunities with in-person courses, specifically for GARR community users.
