From 2 to 4 June 2017 Lucca will host the fifth symposium "Virtual Teachers and Teachers 2.0", the annual event where experts and teachers get together and offer participants the opportunity to experience innovative and captivating educational practices.

GARR will participate on 2 and 4 June to introduce the recently started Up2U project. Up2University is co-funded by the EC as a part of the Horizon2020 programme and is coordinated by GÉANT , the pan-European network. Up2U aims at bridging the gap between secondary schools and universities by improving the formal and informal learning scenarios, and by leveraging the technologies and methods students will use once they start university.

In this phase, GARR is creating a pilot involving first and second grade high schools across Europe, with students aged between 11 and 19. Through this initiative, GARR aims at tuning the offer of new cloud-based tools and services to improve high education. The presentations at the symposium will be an opportunity to trigger the discussion and sharing ideas and opinions on these topics.
