The 10th GARR Technical Workshop, "GARR-X is Here: High-Capacity Networking for Everyone," will take place from April 21 to 23, 2010, at the Montedago Campus of Marche Polytechnic University. This event marks the launch of the first phase of GARR-X implementation and will provide users with a detailed overview of what to expect in the coming months.
The new hybrid GARR-X network is now a reality, and it is not limited to a select few. It is essential that network users are equipped from the outset to make the most of this new infrastructure.
During the workshop, experts will explore the network architecture in detail across its various layers (optical, Ethernet, and IP), the implementation plan, and the role of technical staff within connected institutions. Discussions will also cover advanced network services, such as the creation of national-scale optical and virtual private networks, as well as multi-domain international end-to-end connections. Real-world case studies will highlight customized support for projects and organizations.
Additionally, the event will provide updates on user aggregation through MAN and RAN networks, as well as new services aimed at improving network management (monitoring systems, information services) and enhancing the user experience (EDUROAM, IDEM GARR AAI).
