Video-conferencing: GARR provides free resources to face the COVID-19 emergency

In order to address the emergency COVID-19, GARR is providing open and free videoconferencing services, suitable for organising webinars but also remote classes or work meetings.

These services are:

OpenMeet

OpenMeet

Based on the JitsiMEET system, it is an open source system for video calls, simply by opening a URL (on a browser), with no need for further programs or registration. Available also for mobile (through the app JitsiMeet - iOS and Android), no registration needed.

EduMeet

EduMeet

Based on the open source Mediasoup system, it was developed within the European collaboration GÉANT that was joined by GARR with its resources. EduMeet can be easily and immediately used both on mobile (iOS and Android) and on desktop with no need for dedicated apps or registration.

WebMeetings

WebMeetings

is a web-conference service for remote communication and collaboration. It offers audio/video connection features, screen and document sharing, real-time surveys and the ability to record sessions: suitable tools for training, collaboration and online conferences (rooms with different capacities, up to a maximum of 600 simultaneous connections over several rooms). Available on mobile (iOS and Android) and desktop (with Adobe Connect application), in order to book a room on WebMeetings it is necessary to be part of the IDEM federation. VConf

VConf

Vconf is a video-conference service that allows up to 80 locations simultaneously. Each user can directly access the service (if the organisation is part of the IDEM Federation) or by requesting access credentials through the local network administrator (APM, find it here). To access the service it is necessary to have an h323 / SIP client installed on the PC or have an H323 or compatible codec.
