GARR Workshop 2024 concludes: three days of discussions on the future of networks for research and education
Quantum networks, cybersecurity, cloud technology, and digital identities were among the key topics addressed during the event in Rome, highlighting the GARR Workshop, Net Makers, as a leading forum for the education and research community.
For three days, the National Central Library in Rome hosted over 350 professionals, academics, and digital infrastructure specialists, who gathered to explore cutting-edge issues and innovations shaping network development. The programme featured 45 speakers from various disciplines, covering a broad range of topics centred on future network developments, including the Quantum Internet, automation, cloud technology, cybersecurity, and digital identities. The event also provided updates on the GARR-T network and the latest from the NRRP (EU Next-Generation funds) TeRABIT and ICSC projects, which are transforming national and international research infrastructures.
The training sessions were also well-received, with three courses on cybersecurity, the scientific approach to AI, and digital accessibility, attended by 130 participants.
